Be Informed: DOJ Consumer Complaint Search Now Online

One of my highest priorities as Attorney General is to protect Oregon consumers. Our strategy has two parts. First, we are aggressively investigating and taking legal action against companies and individuals who commit fraud. Second, we are expanding our efforts to educate consumers, helping them get the information they need to avoid becoming a victim in the first place.

As part of this consumer education effort, I am pleased to announce that we have now put all of our consumer complaints online, in a searchable database. This new tool will allow Oregonians to research individual companies to see whether they engage in responsible business practices or not. In a few short minutes, consumers can get all they information they need to make informed, responsible decisions for themselves and their families.

You can access this new resource at www.oregonattorneygeneral.gov/beinformed.
Please take a look -- and spread the work to family, friends, and colleagues.

I am very proud of our work to protect Oregonians and their families but we can't do it without your help. If you have been the victim of a scam or consumer fraud please contact the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Hotline at 1-877-877-9392 or at

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
